See Why Tribunal Barred This PDP Lawmaker From Contesting Elections For Life - You Will Agree He Deserves It
The member representing Langtang South constituency in the Plateau state
House Assembly, Mr. Vincent Bulus, of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
was on Monday sacked by the National Assembly and State House of
Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos. The tribunal also
barred Mr. Bulus for life from contesting elections. It ordered the
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a fresh
election for the constituency within 3 months.
INEC had declared Bulus winner of the Langtang South Constituency House of Assembly election but his opponent, Jackson Danladi, of All Progressives Congress, APC, had dragged Bulus before the Tribunal alleging that he was unfit to contest for the election because he was an ex-convict. Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Akeredolu, while delivering her judgment, said the respondent having been convicted of an offence involving fraud and dishonesty by a court of law, was not qualified to contest the election into the Plateau State House of Assembly.
