THE CURRENT SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY, THE DANGERS AHEAD

The name, Nigeria was the British thinking. The name was coined by Lord Lugard’s wife in 1914 when Nigeria was amalgamated in what we have today as a country (Nigeria) from different with the different ideologies occupying it.

Ever since Nigeria was amalgamated by the British government the country have never experience any form of peace, it has been with one problem to another.

The biggest of it all was the civil war (Nigeria/Biafran war) which was fought and lost between the 1967 to 1970, more than 3.5 million lives were lost during these trying period (Biafra saga). Things that led to that war has not been properly settled by our so called leaders who by their own wisdom, supposed to look into what has caused the war and proffer a better solution for the country to leave as one entity rather than toying with the life and future of the masses.

 

Today, anther protest is currently going on in the Eastern Nigeria calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of the Radio Biafra as well as freedom from Nigeria. This peaceful protest started shortly after the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigeria security agencies (DSS) on his way to visit his family in the Eastern Nigeria. The protest has been breaks WORLD RECORD for Highest number of Peaceful Protest across the world for Same Goal (60 Countries).

Nigeria Government has showed their idiosyncrasy by still detaining Nnamdi Kanu up till this moment.  Therefore, making the poor innocent boy more popular before the world. If Nnamdi Kanu is continues to be in detention, i forsee a serious crisis browing in the entire Eastern region as well as in the whole country.

Every entity has the light to agitate the way they want to be govern them going by the Article 14 of the African Union Charter. The security agencies killed an un armed Biafra’s who were on demonstration for the freedom of Biafra on August 30, 2015 and this unlawful act was brazen savagery against humanity.

One thing we need to understand is that once there is blood spill in a dispute, the crisis continues until the rightful owner of the property takes over his property. It is a clear statement that, there is no commonality or whatsoever that one would say is what connected the easterners and the northerners except one thing, which is ‘English Language’.

 

They said that we are one Nigeria when the leaders who supposed tocarry everyone along are busy dividing the country through their utterance and what we refer as divide and rule.

In Ojukwu’s book; Because I was involved, said this “ I fought the war not to disintegrate Nigeria but to make Nigeria more stronger one. Gowon, after the war said, “No victor No vanquish. While Obasanjo said, there is victor and there is vanquish, and Buhari threatened to treat the people who did not voted for him only with5% support.

Now, the question is, where is the National unity here?

To think or say that all is well with Nigeria, to me is absolutely deceitful. In a football match, there is one spirit guiding them on a pitch. If we must see ourselves as one spirit, there must be a common language that can unify us as one entity. The country therefore, must be the one that would allow people from different regions to develop at their own pace toward realization of the full potential that is being by the wish of the masses from other parts of the country.
