Lieutenant Colonel Killed, Officers Injured in Latest Boko Haram Ambush

In a latest ambush along Maiduguri-Bama road, a lieutenant  colonel of the Nigerian Army, has been feared killed when suspected Boko Haram insurgents allegedly ambushed a military convoy returning to Bama after a working visit to Maiduguri

Details of the attack are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, however a source close to the attacked troops said the convoy slowed down at a bad portion of the road when insurgents opened fire on them from a bad portion of the road.

According to the source, several soldiers in the convoy sustained various  degrees of gun injuries and some military vehicles got damaged in the process.

There are reports of total liberation of some towns in the state by the military and subsequent return of people to those town that include Bama & Konduga.

Tuesday’s  attack took place along the main road between  Bama and konduga by Sambisa forest.
