N13bn Land Deal Fraud: EFCC Serves Tompolo With New Threat

Government Ekpemupolo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says Government Ekpemupolo also called Tompolo cannot escape justice.

EFCC has threatened to take drastic measures if Tompolo fails to honour the December 10 ultimatum to appear before it, over alleged unclear dealings involving the sale of parcels of land worth N13 billion to the federal government during the administration  of former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

The anti-graft agency had threatened to declare the former commander of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) wanted if he failed to honour the invitation. Speaking with TheCable on Thursday, Wilson Uwujaren, spokesman of the commission, said “all lawful means” would be used to bring him in for questioning.

“The commission will take all lawful measures to ensure that he answers the invitation,” he said.

But the former militant leader, who had earlier accused the federal government of witch-hunt, dared the agency like he did in November when he was first invited by Iliasu Kwabai, EFCC’s head of operations.
