Newborn Baby Burns to Death as Doctor and Nurse Jumped to Safety






A newborn baby died after an ambulance engulfed in flames following an explosion. According to reports by the local media, the doctor and nurse jumped to safety before the blast happened leaving the newborn in the blast.

The incident happened on Thursday in Vartak Nagar, Thane, India. The Free Press Journal said the newborn was burnt to death after it was abandoned by the doctor and the nurse.

The explosion is understood to have also injured the child’s mother. It is believed the blast was caused by a spark from the oxygen cylinder. It has been revealed that the baby boy was being transferred to Vedant hospital in Vartak Nagar when complications set in.

Vartak Nagar police have filed an Accidental Death Report but are also investigating the role of the doctor and the nurse. The doctor sustained 21 percent burns and the nurse seven percent. They are both recuperating in the Thane Civil Hospital.
