Tuesday February 23, 2016
At the resumed hearing of the trial yesterday February 22nd, the prosecuting counsel, Alex Izinyon (SAN), asked for an adjournment of the case following Okah’s health status
“The first defendant (Okah) was on February 18 taken to the National Hospital for surgery and as of this morning (Monday) he is still there. I confirmed from the prison officials that he is there. MASSOB laments that the killings of pro Biafra protesters by security
agents has become unbearable.
The group alleged that soldiers were in the habit of shooting people who
were gathered for prayers to incite the people of the south east and
south-south to war.
According to Vanguard, the national director of information of MASSOB,
Sunny Okereafor, lamented that the killings of pro Biafra protesters by
security agents has become unbearable.
The group threatened to drag the government to the International Court
of Justice, ICJ, at the Hague over alleged killings of pro defenceless
Biafra protesters.

Okereafor said: “These are antics we know too well. We refuse to be
deceived. The people of the former Eastern region have been thoroughly
provoked. MASSOB will not keep quiet at these senseless killings and
have decided to let the international community know about the
atrocities being committed by Nigerian security agents.
“MASSOB have concluded plans to take our case to the International Court
of Justice, Hague. We have compiled our evidences on the killings and
the dramatis personae. Our group will not keep quiet on these acts of
killings of innocent citizens.”

states.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian army plans to relocate one of its brigades to
Aba, Abia state, to stop the increasing protest the Indigenous People of
Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign
States of Biafra (MASSOB).
Brigadier General Lawrence Fejokwu, commanding officer of 14 Brigade
Ohafia, noted this adding that Aba had become a hot spot because of the
activities of the Biafrans campaigning for the actualization of a
sovereign state of Biafra, as well as the revival of kidnapping and
sundry crimes.
