Heavy Protest Rocks Abuja Over State Of The Nation
Members of Nigerians united for progressive change took to the street of Abuja on March 30 to protest the current state of the nation The group’s members who frowned at the economic quagmire the country is facing under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions.
The group which picketed the federal capital territory caused discomfort for motorists and other road users though the protest was peaceful. It is believed that the group decided to protest in the FCT in order to send a quick message to the presidency on the current state of the nation.
Nigeria is in a very dire situation as everything seem to be on a standstill. The country’s power generation had dropped
drastically, and getting fuel to power generators is a very big problem, especially as one is greeted with long queues in the few filling stations that have the commodity to sell.
The citizens are yet to see a well detailed economic blueprint to look up to, and to make matter worse, President Buhari is yet to sign the 2016 appropriation bill into law because of some obvious and avoidable glitches from the National Assembly.
