"I was so sure he 'd not survive. I didn't want him to die without a name, so I named him Hope" Anja writes on boy branded a witch

Thursday March 17, 2016

Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven who rescued the little boy left for dead after he was branded a witch in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, shared this touching post on Facebook.
"The day I carried this sweet little boy in my arms for the very first time I was so sure he would not survive. Every breath he took was a struggle and I did not want him to die without a name, without dignity, so I named him Hope.

Hope to me is a special name. Not only the meaning of Hope, but what it stands for. Many years ago I got the name HOPE tattooed on my fingers because to me it means: Help One Person Everyday. (HOPE)"
In more good news, a police officer in Norway, Bjorn Druglimo was moved to tears after he heard the story of Hope. He started collecting football shirts to give to "The Miracle Boy" and other children in the orphanage, including the staff.
