Military installation ‘attacked by Boko Haram’




No fewer than 5 Boko Haram insurgents were killed and several others wounded, when a military installation in Borno State, was attacked on Friday.
According to Sahara Reporters, military sources said the insurgents attempted to overrun Bama town in Bama Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno.
The attempted attack was said to have taken place in the early hours of Friday morning.
Insurgents were killed while some soldiers were said to have been injured from the ensuing gun battle between Boko Haram and Nigerian soldiers.
SR reports that a source from the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF), disclosed that the military successfully repelled the attack and confiscated Boko Haram’s utility vehicles.
A military source was quoted to have said: “Boko Haram made an attempt [on the installation] but we repelled it killing five of them. We recovered an AA gun mounted on vehicle, utility vehicles, and some rifles.”
