Ex Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo slams former club Olympique Marseille's president
Former Super Eagles left-back Taye Taïwo has slammed Olympique
Marseille president Vincent Labrune citing his poor management as reason
why the club has been going backward rather than forward. The 30
year old who now plays for Finnish club Helsingin
jalkapalloklubi says the club's lack of vision in the transfer window is
the reason the club lie 12th in the Ligue 1 table.
“You simply
cannot let Dimitri Payet go. The same applies to André Ayew, Mathieu
Valbuena or André-Pierre Gignac. It doesn’t make any sense,” added
Taïwo, who won the French Ligue 1 during his six-year spell at
Marseille.
“There are too many youngsters in
this team. There is no safety at the back. Against Rennes, it is
unbelievable. They conceded three goals in five minutes. Marseille need leaders at the back. Steve Mandanda cannot do everything.
“OM
don’t play as a team. They all move upfront. On the left they move
upfront, on the right they move upfront, it doesn’t work like that.”
