Immigration service deports 334 Nigeriens

334 illegal immigrants suspected to be nationals of Niger Republic have been reportedly deported Nigerian Immigration Service.

A recent report by Punch Newspapers revealed that the illegal immigrants were repatriated by the Niger State Command of the Service.


David Adi, the Comptroller of the Immigration Service made the revelation in Lafia, the state capital on Friday, April 8, 2016.

“You can imagine someone coming into the country from Niger Republic with just a polythene bag without any real means of livelihood. When we apprehend these kinds of people we always repatriate them,” he added.

Adi also expressed worry over the alarming rate of illegal immigrants crossing into the state.
