MILITARY CLAMPDOWN IN BIAFRALAND
Opposite
the statue of Odumegwu Ojukwu at Head Bridge,Onitsha, is an armoured
personnel carrier (APC) parked at the ready and a makeshift military
camp. These checkpoints are mostly manned by Islamic soldiers, armed
with sophisticated weapons.
Ex-military officer, Austin Onyeji in a chat with Chima Onyekachi of Family Writers, spoke of his confrontation with a detachment of Hausa/Fulani soldiers in a checkpoint in Biafraland. In a voice that reveals anger, frustration and bravery, Austin Onyeji spoke of his experience as thus:

The incident happened at one of the many checkpoints
along Umuahia axis of the Enugu Expressway. We were stopped at the
checkpoint, while inspecting the bus and passengers, a young
hausa/fulani soldier intercepted the phone call of a female Biafran,
took the cellphone and smashed it on the ground while shouting "who are
you calling?", "you are calling them!".
The young lady hysterically
began to wail because of the damage done to her expensive cellphone. I
got angry and demanded to know why the soldier reacted in such vile and
unprofessional manner, whereas the lady was on the phone call before the
bus got to the checkpoint. The soldier called the attention of his
colleagues, who cocked their guns and ordered the driver to switch off
the ignition and the disembarkation of all the passengers.
My cellphones numbering two were forcibly collected from me, and the soldiers demanded to know who I am to challenge any of their actions on the expressway. We were held captive on the expressway for over three hours, even with the continuous pleadings to the soldiers by other passengers.

I decided to calm down, then went to speak to one of the
soldier in hausa language revealing my identity and status as an
ex-military man. The soldier I spoke to, who maybe the senior officer
ordered for my cellphones to be given back to me but his order was
disobeyed until the soldier in possession of my cellphones was harshly
reprimanded. His reason for the disobedience of order, is because he saw
a Biafra flag wallpaper I used as a screensaver on one of my cellphone.
He angrily gave me the cellphones stating I am one of the "stupid"
Biafra Force. I boldly told him he is right and that in a real battle he
cannot withstand me. I have trained many commanders and I know what I
am talking about. The Hausa/ Fulani soldier got visibly infuriated,
cocked his gun and threatened to shot me. I also realized that the
soldiers at the checkpoint had no nametags on their uniforms and they
were mostly of Hausa/Fulani origin.
Also speaking to Chima Onyekachi of Family Writers, a serving soldier who wants to remain anonymous, stationed at 34 Artillery Brigade Barracks,Obinze Owerri. The soldier lamented the deaths of alot of his colleagues, whom are all of Biafran origin, he said they are purposely sent to be killed by BokoHaram Islamic militants and then their families will be abandoned by the army authorities.
He also revealed that the
deployment of soldiers to Biafraland are made mostly of Hausa/Fulani and
Yoruba soldiers and that sensitive information is always been passed to
BokoHaram by superior officers. He said a lot of casualties suffered by
soldiers in Northern Nigeria is been shielded from the media. He cited
lack of salary, compensation and welfare as the bane of the Nigeria
armed forces. He boasted that he is a hardcore Biafran and when the time
comes, "Paul must be separated from Barnabas. "
The military checkpoints is on the increase in Biafraland when there is no crisis going on. Tension has been built and waiting to explode in Biafraland,Aba and Ugwuocha is swarming with soldiers and navy personnels, the hovering of military choppers and sounds of gunshots in the creeks is at constant.Recently, 76 boys were arrested by soldiers at Umuneshi, Awgu in Enugu State, for protesting against the abduction of two women by Fulani herdsmen in their community. We are still buring victims of the Aba massacre that happened in Ngwa High School,Muhammad Buhari the African Hitler, vehemently refused to watch the video of the massacre when asked to by Martine Dennis of Al-Jazeera.

The brutality
and killings of innocent Biafrans by the Nigeria Islamic armed force
have continued unabated. The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), is very
much aware that this is a calculated effort to intimidate and subjugate
her people but we will not be deterred. We have sworn,it is either
Biafra or Death.
