Burglars consistently raiding Police Quarters located in Akpabuyo, Calabar

A LIB Reader sent in this report, crying out for help from the authorities to stop the menace. According to her, thieves have been terrorizing occupants at the Police Quarters in Akpabuyo Village, Calabar, Cross River State. This has been happening for a while now & they no longer sleep in peace at night anymore, according to her...

Another incident occurred yesterday. She said,
“We don’t feel comfortable when we travel or leave our compound briefly, even to Church on Sundays. There are 10 flats in the quarters. Yesterday, the thieves monitored us and made sure most residents were not around. Over 6 different flats were empty as their occupants had gone out. They came in through the backyard and probably assigned themselves to different flats, pulling out the burglary proof at the windows and going into our homes. Phones, monies, jewelries, new clothes and even food stuffs were not spared. The very first time they struck, they took laptops, motorcycles and this will be the 6th or 7th time they have raided us. We all had to sleep with our broken doors and open windows last night.
Nothing is usually done or has been done to help us so far. The incidents have only be documented with nothing positive coming out of it. Please help publish this piece so that it will get to the ears of someone who could help. Someone was caught last year in the act but the person was set free. We no longer feel safe and need urgent help.”
Nigeria Will Break Up If Fulani Herdsmen Are Evicted From The South’ – Northern Senators Warn Zubby | May 9, 2016 | News | 3 Comments fulani war DOWNLOAD ZUBBY BLOG ANDROID APP Senators from the nineteen states in Northern Nigeria have issued a communique regarding threats emanating from certain regions of the country demanding immediate relocation of herdsmen. The Northern Senators warned governors and village heads in South-East in particular to cease from making proclamations that could overheat an already polarized country. Chairman of the Northern Senators’ Forum, APC Senator Abdullahi Adamu from Nasarawa West read a communique on behalf of the group. Senator said, “We appreciate the steps the federal government had taken so far to contain the problems of herdsmen/farmers clashes and call on community leaders to be careful when making statements on these ugly incidences. “There would be no country called Nigeria, if other parts of the country asked Fulani herdsmen to leave their communities and states. We, therefore, warn everybody, including governors to desist from making inflammatory remarks. A governor is a community leader. The only difference is that he has a label called governor. “If you don’t mind, attacks by Fulani Herdsmen in recent times started with the West when elder statesman, Chief Olu Falae, had some very nasty experience. It was attributed at the time to Fulani herdsmen. At the end, those people were apprehended and they were not Fulanis. ALSO READ Stop Lying To Nigerians – Ezekwesili Dares Buhari “This thing has been going on in virtually all parts of the country today. If we now say that everybody should rise and say herdsmen should leave, we will not have a country.” Senator Adamu, who read from a communique issued at the close of the Northern Senators’ meeting stated the forum is determined to continue its unalloyed support for President Muhammadu Buhari. Adamu said the body believes President Buhari will bring about an even development across the length and breadth of the entire nation. The Senators also promised that in order to stem the rising tide of clashes between Herdsmen and farmers, the Senate would either enact or amend laws that will ensure an amicable resolution of the herders/farmers’ crisis. -Vanguard.
