Ibrahim Uwais, the son of the former Chief Justice, died in Syria – He was killed in an attack by American aircraft on ISIS camps – His two wives and five children are still trapped in Alepo
Soldier Sahara Reporters has obtained the information that the son of former Chief Justice Mohammed Uwais, Ibrahim, was killed as the United States launched a fierce attack on members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). A source said that the late Uwais’s son, who secretly left Nigeria in February 2015 to join ISIS, was one of many terrorists who died as US army bombarded camps of the terrorists near the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo.

“Ibrahim died today on the battlefield in Aleppo,” he said. The source continued that one of the two wives of Ibrahim can’t notify the family of his death as they are currently trapped in Syria. NAIJ.com reports earlier that Ibrahim traveled to Syria in 2015, telling close family members he was headed to Turkey to look into business opportunities. Uwais’s son took along his two wives and five kids.

Meanwhile, he slipped from Turkey into Syria with his whole family and joined the growing army of volunteer insurgents who travel from various parts of the world to engage with ISIS, a group whose mission is to carve out an Islamist caliphate. Justice Uwais was Nigeria’s Chief Justice from 1995 to 2006, presiding over the country’s Supreme Court.

The federal government, Department of State Security Services, the National Intelligence Agency as well as other security agencies have increased efforts to stop ISIS recruiters from luring vulnerable young Nigerians to the terrorist group now synonymous with targeting children of the influential and elites via the social media.
