Pres. Buhari Seriously Sick, Again Cancels Scheduled Official Trip To Senegal
In what should no longer come as a surprise to Nigerians, President
Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly canceled his scheduled trip to Dakar,
Senegal for the 49th Extra-Ordinary Summit of the Economic Community of
West African States (ECOWAS) and this is reportedly not unconnected to
serious health challenges which the president is currently faced with.
The president, who was supposed to depart Abuja last night for Dakar to
attend the one day summit slated for today, Friday, reportedly sent Vice
President Yemi Osinbajo to represent him at the regional meeting.
In less than two weeks, President Buhari has canceled highly publicized
official trips to Lagos, Cross River, Rivers and now Senegal.
Meanwhile there is a reported excuse that the president, who has been
accused of globetrotting in his first year in office, followed advice by
his handlers to shelve the Dakar trip so as not to give those who argue
that he only prefers to embark on foreign trips while sending the vice
president to represent him at local fora, further reason to justify
their argument.
