Complete the Maritime University or be ready to face anything - Niger Delta group warned Buhari

The president of the Niger Delta Youth Association Worldwide Victor James has raised concerns that the Federal government attempt to cancel the Maritime University at Okrenkoko will be at its peril.
In a statement made available to NAIJ.com by Stanley O. Efe the group said the cancellation will germinate revolution in Nigeria and that those beating these drums of war for the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration will be the first to go on exile as refugees.
Victor James gave this stern warning at a press briefing in United Kingdom. The briefing was attended by a member of British Parliament for Swansea East constituency, Carolyn Harris, and other notable youth leaders from the Niger Delta region.
He said: “The Maritime University in Okrekoko should not be cancelled as it will be a channel of employment and development in Niger Delta region which is the responsibility of the federal, state, local governments and multinational oil and gas companies. This is apartheid, injustice and oppression which should not be herd of in this modern era, come to think of it, why is the oil and gas facilities in Escravos not cancelled by the Federal government?”
Mr. James further condemned the invasion to Gbaramatu by the Nigerian army and called on the government to apologize to the people of region because it is not only an act of aggression but “an act of war by a group of administrators against an important integral part of the owners of the Nigerian State.”
“It is an abuse by administrators of the institution (government) set up by the Nigerian State to run its affairs of the people who own the Nigerian State hence; the perpetrators should be probed including the presidency. Administrators of the government of a federal state has no constitutional right to declare war against a federating unit of any federation because it is devoid of logic and commonsense we have many security agencies hence, what is expected of them in to trace the real perpetrators in a professional format and prosecute them but not to send the military as if they’re going to fight Alshabab in Somalia of which military personnels went there and ended up stealing, killing and raping Citizens of the Nigerian-State, I mean this is unacceptable in any sane clime. Such unprofessional action smacks of brigandage and incompetence” he noted.
The federal government has placed embargo on the proposed establishment of maritime university and directed money committed into the project should be refunded.
