Edo State speaker steps down to become Deputy Speaker

The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie has stepped down from her position.

Her Deputy, Dr. Justin Okonoboh was however elevated to the position immediately she resigned. This was to balance political imbalance in the state.

Okonoboh was sworn in at about 11am this morning. It would be recalled that Ativie was sworn in on May ‎3rd, the day her predecessor, Victor Edoror, was impeached.
