Nnamdi Kanu’s wife speaks about Biafra
Uchechi Okwu-Kanu has vehemently denied report that the agitation for Biafra is dead and other report and that her husband has renounced his Biafra stance. In an interview with IBTimes UK, the wife of Nnamdi Kanu insisted that her husband was unshaking in his Biafra struggle and those saying he has renounced his Biafra struggle were “misguided minds”.
Uchechi also took a swipe at the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) which had earlier claimed Kanu had renounced his Biafra struggle, She said: “It is not in my place to tell Mend whatto do. But my advice to them is to stop peddling
such hoax in their quest for amnesty.”

“They obviously do not know what Nnamdi Kanu
and the Indigenous People of Biafra stand for nor have an inkling of what freedom fighting is about. ” Uchechi described Kanu as a prisoner of
conscience and said his arrest has moved people who were once sitting on the fence to support the cause for Biafra.

about the restoration of Biafra. Evident to this, is
the involvement of those who were not IPOB members initially. People are very much aware of the truth that lays bare and Biafrans all over the
world are fighting for him and lives have been lost during protests.”

Even in this dark time, what he represents, which is the light and truth, illuminates brighter in their minds than he can ever imagine. He is the voice for the voiceless, hope for the hopeless and those who lost their loved ones and friends and families now look up to that hope he represents.”
