Militants bombs export pipeline in Warri

An oil pipeline has been destroyed in Batan, near Warri in Delta State by suspected militants just hours after President Muhammadu Buhari met with Niger Delta elders on Tuesday, AFP reports.
No group has claimed responsibility for the destruction of the pipeline operated by the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC).
“The attack was carried out with the aid of dynamite and it is coming less than 48 hours after the resumption of operations at the flow station,” a security official told AFP.

Chairman of Batan community, Dickson Ogugu confirmed the incident.

“The entire river is flooded with contents from the damaged trunkline and we are at the receiving end,” he said.
