Mob beats up Soldier in Warri for stealing a mobile phone

Daily Post reports that the lady raised the alarm at the popular Robson G. Shopping plaza, along Okumagba Avenue in Warri after recognizing the soldier.
Sensing danger, the soldier, who was putting on military camourflage tried to escape from the scene with a knife in his hand.

The mobile policemen escorted him to the residence of former Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen. David Ejoor to confirm if he was truly a personnel of the Nigerian Army.
The Army personnel on Guard at Maj. Gen. David Ejoor’s residence dispersed the angry mob and refused to hand over the unidentified soldier to police officers from the Nigeria Police Force ‘B’ Division in Warri.

As at the time of filing this report, the Army is yet to confirm if the unidentified officer is a personnel of the Nigerian Army.
But a source within the Barracks said, “we could not question the unidentified officer; he has been referred to the hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained from the angry mob.”
