Nigeria In Recession Was Ordained by God - Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has vindicated the former president, Goodluck Jonathan by saying that the current recession ravaging the country was ordained by God.

It will be recall that the All Progressive Congress(APC), ruling party led by President Muhammadu Buhari has accused the former President Goodluck Jonathan's administration of looting the nations treasury, not saving for the rainy day, that led the country into recession.
Contrary to that, the Sultan while speaking on Wednesday to mark the 10th year of his reign in Sokoto, Abubakar said what caused the recession is sins of Nigerians, citing that repentance remains is the solution.

According to the monarch,“The only solution to this is for us to show piety and repent. It is ordained by God. So, Nigerians should seek for repentance from God.”

He appealed to both Christians and Muslims to live their lives in line with the principles of their respective Holy books.
