Not every Igbo are supporting the idea of breaking off from Nigeria as being championed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, says Chief Ndukwe Iko.
Chief Ndukwe Iko, former chieftain of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), revealed that he wouldn’t support any idea to cause the breakup of Nigeria. He stressed that he would, however, fight to ensure justice was established in every part of the country and Igbo people respected.
His words: “The Igbo can’t support ideas and ideals that would bring down the country. We want something that will move the country forward. We, however, can’t do anything about individual fights. After the Civil War, the Igbo have been pursuing progressive ideas. There was no time the Igbo sat down, had a meeting and agreed to break away from Nigeria.”

Iko, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Task International Technical Limited, disclosed that the movement of former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, from PPA to the All Progressives Congress (APC), is beneficial to the Igbo, said he was also contemplating joining Kalu in APC.

According to him, he has a lot of followers and needed to consult with them first.
