Boko Haram has launched another deadly attack on a military base in Yobe State and burnt down much of Sasawa town located 27 kilometers to Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, Daily Trust has just reported.
The invasion took place at 6:00 p.m. yesterday when the assailants stormed the village in three Hilus vans, motorcycles and dislodged military men in the neighborhood after which they razed the whole town by fire.
According to the source, “They burnt down the entire town and we learnt that three security vehicles have been seized by the insurgents after soldiers fled the military base, but no death has been reported so far.”
Confirming the incident, the Police Commissioner, Yobe State command, Sumonu Abdulmaliki, said there was actually a deadly attack by Boko Haram insurgents but did not give details.
“All I can confirm to you is that Sasawa came under attack yesterday by the insurgents but there is no further detail for now. The town has no means of communication at the moment so I don’t have any details of the current situation,” he said
