Portuguese International Pepe confirms leaving Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Pepe has confirmed that he is leaving the European champions after 10 years at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Portuguese international, now 34, joined Los Blancos in a £25m deal in 2007, and went on to make 334 appearances for the club.

But he was left out of the Champions League final squad on Saturday night, not even making the bench having fallen below not only Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, but also Nacho in the pecking order.

Now Pepe is exiting on a free transfer but leaves unhappy at the club's handling of his departure - especially manager Zinedine Zidane.
