Breaking News: Supreme Court sacks Sheriff, confirms Ahmed Makarfi as PDP Chairman

Nigeria's Supreme Court on Wednesday, confirmed Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, led the five-member panel comprising Tanko Muhammad, Bode Rhodes-Vivour, Kayode Ariwoola and Dattijo Muhammad to deliver the judgement in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.
Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour who read the verdict, validated the national convention of the PDP that held in Port Harcourt on May 21, 2016, where the Sheriff National Executive Committee (NEC) was dissolved.
The apex court accused Ali Modu Sheriff of engaging in forum shopping, saying he "displayed infantile desperation to cling to office at all cost".
Consequently, it awarded a cost of N200,000 each, against Sheriff and Prof. Wale Oladipo who acted as National Secretary of the PDP under him.
This judgement brought an end to the leadership tussle that rocked the party.
