Hoodlums loots rice sent to Kogi workers by National Assembly

Hoodlums yet to be identified havevandalised the first consignment of 220 bags of rice sent to Kogi State by members of the National Assembly for workers.

A statement signed Vice Chairman of Nigerian Labour Congress, Kogi State Chapter, Comrade Meliga Obaka, made available to newsmen in  Lokoja on Friday (yesterday) condemned in totality the attitude of the hoodlums that vandalised the consignment.

The union also debunked claims that Union leaders were part of the agreement for the payment of percentage salaries to the state and local government workers .

Obaka said,  “The first consignment of 220 bags of rice was still in the truck that brought it to Lokoja at the old market when hoodlums invaded the area and looted the rice.”

He described the occurrence as very unfortunate and called on the law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
