Senate passes vote of no confidence on IGP
Senate on Wednesday declared the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris as “enemy of democracy and unfit to hold any public office within and outside the country”.
Senate President Bukola Saraki made the disclosure during plenary after a closed-door section by the red chamber.
The Senate entered into closed session following the failure of the IGP to honour the invitation of the red chamber for three consecutive times.
We recall that the Senate last week invited IGP to appear before it and explain why the senator representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye was humiliated and the brief it on the recent killings in some states in the country, especially Benue State.
